Longleat Safari Park was opened in 1966 and was the first drive-through safari park outside of Africa. The park is situated in the grounds of Longleat House – the home of the 7th Marquess of Bath.

Animals roam freely in the parkland and the park has enjoyed successful breeding programmes.

You can also drive through Monkey Jungle, Big Game Reserve to see white rhino and ankole cattle, Deer Park, Tiger Territory, Lion Country, and Wolf Wood. Other animals you can see in the drive-through are South-American tapirs, Indian water buffalo, eland, pere david’s deer, wallabies, dromedary camels, llamas, scimitar-horned oryx, blackbucks, bactrian camels, and ostriches.

There is also the half-acre Gorilla Island, the half mile lake which houses Californian Sea lions, as well as the Pets Corner to see Asian short clawed otters, degus, rabbits, tortoise and more.
