Only 8 miles from Liverpool, the park was opened in 1971 when the idea of Safari Parks was new.
The park consists of a 5 mile drive through safari to see a wide variety of animals including tigers, elephants, white rhinos, lions, buffalo, wildebeest, eland, bison, camels, ostriches, scimitar-horned oryx, pere david's deer, fallow deer, blackbucks, hafueflat's lechwe, wallabies, guanacos and more. You can also drive your car through the Monkey Jungle which is home to over 100 baboons all of which were born at Knowsley.
The park enjoys continued breeding success and are one of the few parks to successfully breed the white rhinocerous.
Other attractions include amusement park, bug house, sealion show, bird display, lake farm, miniature railway, picnic & play area and souvenir shop. Education packs are available for teachers taking pupils.
